In Mahabharata, he narrates Yudhishthira the Prahlad narrative, in Ramayana, he cautions Ravana, and in many other Puranas.
Sage Narad’s knowledge plagued him. He caused chaos everywhere. He told the truth and warned, but no one believed him.
The Hindu Puranas say Sage Narad may travel to other planets. He has a khartal and tanpura (Mahathi). He excels with this instrument.
Sage Narad worships Vishnu:
He’s intelligent and naughty. Narad Muni, a Vaishnav devotee, sang praises of Lord Vishnu. He shouts Hari-Narayana. Bhakti Yoga by Narad Muni. He is credited with creating the Narad Bhakti Sutra. Narad Purana is devoted to him. Narad Smriti only discusses law.
Sage Narad is a journalist and divine musician. He altered numerous occurrences. He is an important Hindu sage. Most Hindus worship him. The Bhagavata Purana recounts Sage Narad’s enlightenment. Gods rely on Sage Narad for information. World’s first journalist.
Sage Narad was born on Earth as a cursed Gandharva. He was taken to a maid. Priests blessed and taught him. After his mother died, he wandered the jungle seeking enlightenment. He meditated under a tree. Vishnu appeared to him. He dedicated his life to Lord Vishnu, who granted him the astral form of “Narad” after his death.
Sage Narad’s life:
- The twelve immortals, or Chiranjeevi, are said to include Sage Narad.
- Narad Muni worships Vishnu. He chants “Narayana Narayana.” He extols Vishnu. He is a veena master.
- Sage Narad told Valmiki about Lord Rama.
- Sage Narad instructed Yudhishthira on his kingly duties in Mahabharata.
- Narad Muni can freely travel between the 3 Loka. He does so lightning-fast.
- Gods spoke through Sage Narad. He would notify the Gods of grave threats to heaven and earth.
- Sage Narad was a Veda scholar and master.
- Narad can be naughty. He helped the Universe, though.
- Narad promotes Bhakti Yoga. He stressed faith and devotion.

Narad cursed Vishnu why?
Narad condemned Vishnu while being a devotee. In Tapovan, a Tapasya grove, Lord Shiva gifted Narad to meditate. Nobody could disturb them. Narad Muni meditated. Indra got worried since he didn’t know his meditation goal. Lord Indra dispatches Agni Deva, Varuna, and Vayu to disturb Narad (God of Wind).
They started working. Agni Deva started a fire, Vayu blew, and Varuna rained. They returned to heaven after it failed. Indra disturbed the loving god Kamadeva. He attempted everything to annoy Narad Muni. Narad was untouched. His determination defeated everything. After meditating, Narad Muni was proud. He visited Shiva in Kailash. He bragged about his victories over Kamadeva, Varuna, Agni Deva, and Vayu. Lord Shiva instructed Narad not to speak to Vishnu. Narad couldn’t help but brag to Vishnu. “Be on Guard,” Lord Vishnu instructed Narad. Narad Muni ignored Vishnu’s words.
Narad visited King Sheelanidhi’s palace while returning. He discovered princess Shrimati’s swayamvara. Narad loved and wanted to marry the princess. Narad’s fortune said the princess’s husband would rule the three planets. Narad asked Lord Vishnu to make him as attractive as Hari so the princess would choose him as her consort.
Finally, swayamvara. Narad Muni believed the princess would be his companion. After seeing his face, the princess chuckled and didn’t give him the garland. Narad was upset and informed the princess he deserved the garland. At the ceremony, everyone teased him. They had Narad check the mirror. Narad was astonished to see he appeared like a monkey in the mirror.
Sadly for Narad, Vishnu’s other name, Hari, means monkey. Narad demanded to know why Vishnu did this. Narad informed Lord Vishnu that this conduct cost him his affection. Princely looks were expected. He became a monkey.
Eventually, Narad denounced Lord Vishnu, saying that he too would lose his love and endure the agony of separation. Narad Muni even said monkeys would help him win your heart. Narad stated he will be born human. He will marry Lakshmi. Both would endure separation. Lord Vishnu accepted the curse with a smile.
Narad Muni was cursed by whom?
Srimad Bhagavatam recounts it. Daksha had 10,000 sons and was named Haryaśvas. Daksha told them to make additional beings. Instead of having children, Sage Narad persuaded them to become Sanyasis.
Daksha had another 1000 sons and he instructed them similarly. Narad again persuaded them to become Sanyasis instead of having children. Daksha was furious at Narad and He cursed Narad with the following.
“I lost my sons because of you. You are a mischief-maker who has no idea how to treat other people. I cursed you to traverse the universe but never settle.”
Narad willingly accepted the curse.
